Their simple, bold lines are very much in tune with modern living, and their erect, upright nature makes them suitable for displaying even in the smallest of spaces.

Sansevieria are commonly known as snake plants, mother-in-law's tongues, or good luck plants. There are many varieties and hybrids to choose from; however, they typically fall into one of three categories:

• Sansevieria trifasciata is the most common and popular of all the Sansevieria. Sansevieria trifasciata has tall, flat, tongue-shaped leaves that grow in a stiff, upright manner. Leaf color is usually mottled or variegated bars or stripes of white on anything from dark green to very pale silvery-green, and sometimes with yellow margins.
