Styling tips
Layer the dinner, soup and side plates at each place for a formal dinner, and keep the oval plates and tureen in the centre for family-style sharing. Plain linen in white, sand or sage lets the china stand out, while gold-toned cutlery adds warmth for festive evenings. Set the tea service on a separate tray or sideboard so guests can help themselves after the meal. Store the full set in a glass-fronted cabinet to display it between occasions.
