This oil and water colour experiment kit turns a simple science idea into a moment of wonder. Children drop coloured pigments into oil, break them into tiny particles, then pour the mix into water. After several minutes the pigment particles sink through the oil layer and dissolve into the water, creating a slow rain of colour. It suits curious kids who love to watch, ask questions and try again.
Key features
Visual science: shows how oil and water separate because of their different densities.
Rain of colours: pigment particles drift down and spread through the water.
Clear plastic bottle: lets children see every stage of the experiment.
Measuring cup included: helps kids measure and pour with more control.
Repeatable fun: try different colour combinations to see new effects.
Set up the experiment on a kitchen counter or a wipe-clean kids' table, ideally near natural light so the colours glow. Lay down a tray or old towel to catch drips. It makes a calm weekend activity in a Dubai or Sharjah apartment, and a good talking point for a home learning corner. Keep the finished bottle on a shelf as a colourful display for a day or two. We suggest an adult stays close by while pigments and oil are in use.
