The Oblate Vase is a mouth-blown glass vessel with a flattened, spherical shape and a tall pillar stem set into a walnut base. It suits anyone who likes decor that does more than one job. Fill it with a few stems, plant it up, drop in a candle, or simply let it stand as a sculptural object on a shelf or console.
Key features
Mouth-blown glass: blown by master glassblowers into wooden moulds to create a spherical shape.
Hand-shaped form: the sphere is squashed by hand using wooden tools, giving each piece its oblate silhouette.
Flame-finished rim: the rim is melted by a flame.
FSC-certified walnut base: a warm wooden foundation that holds the glass stem.
Versatile use: works as a vase, planter or lantern, or as a standalone decorative piece.
Care: handwash the glass in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Wipe the natural wood with a damp cloth and leave to dry naturally.
Styling tips
At 21.5 cm tall, the Oblate sits comfortably on a coffee table, sideboard or bedside table. Clear glass and walnut pair easily with oak, linen and cream tones, so it fits Scandinavian and modern interiors alike. For a dining table, use it as a low lantern so it never blocks conversation. Group it with taller vases or a stack of books for a layered console display. A single green stem or a small trailing plant keeps the look calm and lets the glass shape do the talking.
