Styling tips
In a living room, place the rug so the front legs of your sofa and armchairs rest on it. This pulls the seating together and makes the space feel planned. Under a dining table, a 200 x 300 cm rug works best with a table for four to six, leaving room for chairs to slide back.
Let the carpet lead the room. Pair it with plain upholstery, solid cushions and simple curtains, and avoid heavily patterned furniture that competes with the design. Warm wood, brass accents and soft lighting suit a classic majlis-style reception, while clean-lined sofas and light walls give a modern feel.
