Styling tips
Presentation is half the pleasure with set desserts. Turn out a vanilla panna cotta onto a dark slate or white porcelain plate so the shape stands out, then add a spoonful of berry coulis or a sprinkle of crushed pistachio. For a local twist, try a rose water or saffron milk pudding topped with a few dates. Bright fruit jellies look cheerful on a glass cake stand at a children's party. If you are serving a crowd, set several batches the day before and keep them chilled until just before guests arrive, which is handy during warm UAE evenings.
