Styling tips

Set the saucers on a mirrored or brass tray for a bar cart moment. The sapphire tone pairs well with white linen, gold cutlery and deep green or navy table runners. For a celebration spread, mix them with clear glassware so the colour stands out. They also work for a small dessert, such as a scoop of sorbet or a mousse, at the end of a dinner party.

Between uses, store them upright in a closed cabinet to keep the lustre free of dust and away from knocks.

Materials & making

Mouth blown by skilled glassblowers to create a hollow-stemmed flute. Layers of coloured and clear glass are gathered and shaped before blowing into the mould. The disc foot is shaped by hand using a wooden tool and applied to the stem. The fine rim is fire polished to achieve a smooth finish. An iridescent lustre is applied by hand while the glass is still hot.
