A small, self-sustaining garden for your home

The Canopy Closed Garden is a dome-shaped terrarium inspired by the Eden Project's biospheres and their focus on sustainability. Each dome is mouth blown from recycled glass and topped with a removable, sustainably-sourced cork lid. Plant it with slow-growing succulents, moss or cacti to create an almost entirely self-sustaining ecosystem. It suits plant lovers in Dubai and Sharjah apartments who want greenery without a balcony, and anyone who likes low-effort indoor planting.

Care

Styling tips

  • Place it on a coffee table, sideboard or desk where the dome shape can be seen from all sides.
  • Keep it in bright, indirect light rather than a sunny window, so the enclosed garden does not overheat.
  • The warm cork lid pairs well with natural wood, rattan and linen in Scandinavian or modern interiors.
  • Group it with a few smaller potted plants on a shelf for a layered, green corner.

Materials & making

The Canopy closed garden is mouth blown from recycled glass. Locally-sourced clear jars and bottles are sorted, crushed and heated in the furnace until molten. The skilled glassblower gathers, shapes and then blows the molten glass into a mould to form the closed garden, inspired by the Eden Project's biospheres. Air bubbles will occur as part of this 100% recycled and handmade process. The cork is a natural material which is 100% biodegradable, recyclable and renewable based on a sustainable cycle.
