Key features
Trailing growth: long stems drape beautifully from a hanger, shelf or pot stand.
Attractive foliage: glossy, dark green leaves with visible veins.
Air purification: English ivy was among the top-performing plants in NASA research into plants that can filter air.
Hardy and adaptable: copes with both shade and sun, and grows best in partial shade.
Fast grower: fills out quickly for a lush, layered look.
Specifications
Botanical name: Hedera helix
Product dimensions: 20 x 10 x 20 cm
Special feature: Air purification
Sunlight exposure: Partial sun
Styling tips
Hang it near a window with filtered light, or set it on a high bookshelf so the stems trail over books and vases. In a compact Dubai or Sharjah apartment, a ceiling hanger adds greenery without using floor space. The deep green leaves look fresh against white or sand-toned walls, and pair well with rattan, terracotta and natural wood. Group it with upright plants for contrast in height and shape.
Plant care
English ivy prefers to stay on the dry side. Check the top layer of soil before watering, and if it still feels moist, wait a couple more days. Keep it out of harsh direct sun, especially in the UAE summer, and let it enjoy partial shade.
